THE WEEK THAT WAS
Despite four division titles (including last season) and a DFC XVII Championship, its hard to believe Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert (who actually is, like, a rocket scientist) has only won one regular season week -- and that was back in Week 9 of DFC 11 way back in November 2010. Eight years later, he finally gets his second win, with a solid 9-1 mark, one that puts him near the top of the playoff race.
Tommy "The Highlander" McLeod (there can only be one) gets that 2nd place finish, with Big Eddy Mc in 3rd, and James Hawbaker trying to salvage a disaster season in 4th. Jonathan Osborne rounds out the top 5, all at 8-2
In 6th place is Yours Truly, while Drew "The Grassman" Warren and Trey "The Answer" Cartledgee tie for 7th, Atlanta Bill Seybolt in 9th and Lori "Sunshine" Beirne comes in 10th, everyone at 7-3

LIES, DARN LIES, & STATISTICS Xtra Size
- Out of the 84 people who've ever played this DFC game, 51 of them have spent at least one weekend in the postseason. And 32 of those are still active in the DFC as of this season.
- Most playoff appearances? Mark Gainey and Drew Morris have both done it 13 times, while Yours Truly, Tommy McLeod, and Eddy McBroom have been in 12 times. A couple of ladies are the others who have made the postseason at least 10 times or more, with OG DFC'er Jennifer Ersnt in 11 times, and Lori Beirne with 10.
- Brad Ashby and Mitchell Pinkerton are the only two with 1 playoff appearance, both last season... it seems as it Mitch will make it 2, with Brad seemingly on the outs.
- Naturally, that puts Gainey with the most postseason wins of all time, at 143, with Big Eddy in 2nd at 139, and Drew Morris with 136. This will likely change, as Gainey and Drew are prime for another playoff run, and Big Eddy will struggle to make it this year.
- And that also means there are those in playoff futility... Michael Nipp currently holds the record for longest gap between appearances. His last appearance was in DFC V, and as by the end of this season, there will have been 1,344 games, plus the 96 for next year (that's if he misses this year, which he likely will) so he'll be sitting at 1,440 games picked between playoff berths (if he makes it next year). Tom Johnson, who also will miss this year, will be looking at 768 games by the end of next year. His last appearance was in DFC XI in 2010.
- And then there are those longtime DFC'ers who have yet to make the postseason. Sarah Hasha held this record with 1536 games picked in the span of her career (DFC III to DFC XVIII). Garrett Cheney joined the league in DFC V, and at the end of this season, will have 1440. Meaning if he returns for DFC XX, he'll also be at 1,536 games. Goals, baby.
- Not to be outdone, Chris Croyle stands at 963 games by season's end. Jacob Pinkerton will have 576 at the end of this season as well.
- Clay Shaver, who may or may not make the playoffs, breaking a four season streak, just won his 298th game of his career, now sitting at 46-32. That's also the record of the aforementioned Jacob Pinky, who also has 298 games in his career... only Shaver started a full season after Pinky. His brothers Mitchell and Matthew also seems poised to pass him (both also starting a season after Jacob) as they have 275 and 288 regular season wins respectively.
- Add in playoff wins, and Clay shoots past him with 328 wins, as does Matt Pinky, with 314. Mitch only trails Jacob by 3. Of course, the other Pinky brother Bradley is way ahead of them all. The former Rookie of the Year has 485 wins regular season, and just passed 500 wins all time (506)
- Looking at regular season milestones -- Eddy McB Jr needs only 2 wins to cross the big 1000, becoming the 9th player all time to do so (Yours Truly, Jenn Ernst, Tommy Mc, Drew Morris, Big Eddy, Jon Osborne, Gainey, DMO).
- Next up for 1000 regular season: Tad Roose (993) will likely make it this season, and next season, expect to see Tom Johnson (982), Daniel Powell (989), Lori Beirne (989) and Mikey Nipp (977)
- Though it's been a down season, Tyler Campbell just hit 800 (808 now)... Matt Halpert is a week or two away from 700 (692), and sophomore Justin Dearing flew past 100 with 108 total
- Looking at the Regular Season Top Ten All Time, its an interesting match between Tad Roose & Lori Beirne, with Tad having 993 wins and Lori with 989, so Lori has a shot to finish the season amongst the Top Ten ever.
- Reshuffling the spreadsheet, looking now at ALL TIME EVER rankings (regular season + playoffs), the race is on between Tom Johnson (996 all time wins) and Mikey Nipp (989 all time) to see who can get to 1000 first. Why those two? Because there are 8 of the original 11 DFC'ers who started back in 2000, and those are the only two who don't have 1000 all time wins. Goals again.
