THE WEEK THAT WAS
It's only been done one other time, and Lori "Sunshine" Beirne did it in Week 9 of DFC XVI in 2015... so two years ago.  That milestone?  Going 10-0.  The 2nd time it was done was this weekend, by Justin "The Rookie" Dearing, who all but wrapped up the Rookie of the Year honors this year. Oh, and he won the week.

Coming in at 2nd for the week, Tyler "The Self Appointed Sexy Beast of the DFC" Campbell (I'm not making that up, by the way -- he did appoint himself that years ago), and Tad "The Dynasty" Roose gets 3rd, both at 9-1.

At 8-2, Brad "Lawdawg" Latta in 4th, Steven "Mister" Ray in 5th, Yours Truly in 6th, and Jenni Ernst in 7th.  Big Eddy Mac gets 8th, Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert in 9th and gRandy Latta takes 10th, at 7-3.

LIES, DARN LIES & STATISTICS

  • Congrats to Mitchell Pinkerton, who is possibly headed towards the MVP title and unless he has a collapse of historic proportions, his first playoff spot.  He's sitting at 56 wins, and with 18 games left, needs only 4 more wins to surpass his best season ever and get to 60 wins for the first time.
  • Sixty wins is a huge achievement, as its not something most do frequently.  Mark "The Dynasty" Gainey has the most 60+ win seasons with 10, while Jennifer Ernst & Big Eddy both have 7, and Yours Truly, Lori "Sunshine" Beirne and Tad "The Dynasty" Roose have 6 each.
  • Also for Mitchell, he and Remodeling Clay Shaver are in a battle for the College Title, with Mitch having 34 wins, and Clay with 32.
  • Steven Ray and Big Eddy Mac are with 25 and 24 respectively in the NFL record race
  • Meanwhile, Jonathan Osborne has a 8.29 TBA, while Tyler has 8.43, and James Hawbaker and Justin Dearing both have 8.86 in the TieBreak Average Title race
  • With an 8 game lead over Casey Lewis, it looks like Justin Dearing may have the Rookie of the Year honors wrapped up, and is on the edge of becoming the first rookie to make the postseason in that rookie year since Michael Ferris did it two years ago in DFC XVI

THE WEEK THAT WAS
This deep into the season, Mitchell Pinkerton really has laid down the first true evidence that he's the season frontrunner for the MVP Award this year.  Winning his second week, young Mitch is the only record at 8-2 this week, and takes over the #1 spot in the league from Big Eddy, as well as now moving into an 8 game lead in the North Division.  Lots of games to go, and a lead can be lost (ask Young Garrett who, in DFC V, won 65 games, and needed only to go 2-6 in Week 12 of that year... to turn around and go 1-7, lose a playoff berth to Wookiee Fulaytar, who went on to win the DFC title as the 8th seed.  Ah, DFC History)

Yours Truly comes up short again, in 2nd place with 7-3, while Hurricane Rhett Barnett gets 3rd, alsl in 7-3, and Jon Osborne gets 7-3 for 4th place.  A three way tie between two Lattas and a Wasyluka for 5th, while "The Bald One" Brad Ashby is moving towards the best season of his career, getting 8th place.

In 9th, Popman Brett Smith at 6-4, while Justin "The Blend" Glenn and The One who Appointed Himself the "Sexy Beast of the DFC", Tyler Campbel, tie for 10th at 6-4.

Also finishing:

THE WEEK THAT WAS
Tough week for everyone, as only a few people picked LSU, and only a few people picked the LA Chargers -- and that makes 2 losses for most right there.  Which doesn't mean anything to Matthew Pinkerton, as winning his first week ever at 7-3 is still winning his first week ever, so kudos to Matt Pinky.  Steven Ray comes up just behind Matthew also at 7-3, getting 2nd place.

The rest of the top ten all went with 6-4, with Lt Dan Sellers in 3rd, Brad "The Lawdawg" Latta in 4th, Jonny Osborne in 5th, Sarah Hasha in 6th, Trey "The Answer" Cartledge in 7th, Remodeling Clay Shaver & Lori "Sunshine" Beirne tying for 8th and Tad "The Dynasty" Roose finishing up the top ten in 10th.
