AWARDS SEASON
Time to hand out some trophies...
- First up, David Mark Osborne gets his first North Division title since DFC II -- incidentally he ends up with a 60-36 record on both.
- Tommy McLeod takes home the MidCentral Division crown, ending Brad Latta's streak of five straight division titles
- Drew Morris wins his 2nd West Division title in a row, and 7th overall.
- Yours Truly finally gets the East Division again, my 4th careerwise, but first since DFC XI
- Justin Dearing has a monumental season, snagging his first ever division crown, the South Central Division, with an impressive 69 wins.
- Incidentally, the reason there are two divisions with odd names like "South Central" and "MidCentral" is because when we went from four to six divisions in DFC V, we couldn't have two "Centrals". Thus, a "Mid" and a "South". It works.
- Finally, Tad Roose wins only his 3rd division title lifetime, and his second in a row in the South. His first division title was in the SouthCentral back in DFC VII.
- The College Title is a trophy given to the one with the best college record of the season -- Justin Dearing gets his 2nd straight College title with a league leading 46 wins.
- Tommy McLeod also gets two more trophies this season -- first up, the NFL Title. His 24 wins were tied with Justin Dearing and Bill Seybolt, but via TieBreak of the TieBreak, he wins the cup.
- Finally, Tommy also becomes the 9th DFC'er to win the TieBreak Award with a TB under 10 pts. His 8.56 is the 8th best to win the TB title in the 20 years of the DFC
THE MVP
And that leaves one big award -- the MVP. Typically it goes to the DFC'er with the best record, and with 69 wins, Justin Dearing gets the Sarah Hasha MVP Trophy to sit on his mantle.
LIES, DARN LIES & STATISTICS
- A few more random stats, starting with this... this season's opening round had the absolute worst performances of a Wild Card Round ever. The average win amongst the 10 was only 3.3 wins, with only Hurricane Rhett, Lt Dan "Magic Legs" Sellers, and Atlanta Bill Seybolt getting 4 games -- with the first two advancing.
- Mark Gainey sits atop the all time playoff win list with 164, while Big Eddy is in 2nd at 150. A big win in the Final Four and a good DeuceBowl XX showing would get him that top spot... but he'll need to at least advance to kick The Mighty Gainey off of that perch.
- Tad "The Dynasty" Roose sits at 90 playoff wins, with a chance at being only the 5th person to get to 100, following Gainey, Big Eddy, Drew // Morris, Yours Truly, and Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert.
TWENTY SEASONS of the DFC... 15 champions.
- Will Tad "The Dynasty" Roose prove once and for all that he's the GOAT by winning his 4th DFC Championship?
- Will Justin "The Rook" Dearing fulfill his early potential and finish off one of the greatest seasons of all time by winning it all?
- Can Hurricane Rhett Barnett quietly put his claim as one of the greatest by getting a 2nd title in 5 years?
- Big Eddy McBroom, perhaps the greatest to never win a title, the perpetual Buffalo Bills or Susan Lucci of the DFC... can he finally take the championship home, after going 0-3 in previous DeuceBowls?

THE WEEK THAT WAS
Coming under the category of "Longtime DFC'er that I never actually met" (I honestly forget who he's connected to... Brad Latta? DMO?), Lt Dan "Magic Legs" Sellers has been doing this for 11 years now, and only 2 weekly wins to his name (Wk 2 in DFC X and Wk 6 of DFC XV), but gets a much needed 10-0 this week to vault himself into playoff contention.
Also getting a much needed 9-1, Jonathan Osborne takes 2nd, while Chris Croyle's 8-2 is good enough to get him 3rd. A tie for 4th between Lil Stevie Ray and James Hawbaker at 8-2, while Rick TOOLIE gets 6th for the week. Clay "Che" Shaver takes 7th, Yours Truly gets 8th, and Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halper and Brad "Lawdawg" Latta tie for 9th, to round out the Top 10.

THE WEEK THAT WAS
It's been a rough season for Defending DFC Champion Mitchell "The Younger Pinky" Pinky (he's been doing this for 7 years now... he was like, 10 when he started... now he's in high school. What.) as he's floundered in the bottom half of the league all year. However, he's put together a few great weeks, culminating with a weekly win this week at 8-2, putting him 10th in the conference and 1 game out of the 8th spot. It's his 3rd career win all time.
Having a worse season is the gentleman who long ago said, "Im the Sexy Beast of this league". That itself is subjective, but what isn't is that Tyler Campbell has had a dreadful season, having not risen above #31 of the entire field this year. The former champion (DFC XII in 2011) tied for 2nd this week, with Tim "The Big" Wasyluka, both at 7-3.
7-3 is the record of the rest of the weekly top ten as well, including Yours Truly in 4th, Tom Johnson in 5th, Mikey Nipp in 6th, Hurricane Rhett and Brad "Not Scott Van Pelt" Ashby tied for 7th, Justin "The Rook" Dearing takes 9th and Young Garrett gets 10th.
Also Finishing:
6-4: Tommy "There Can Only Be One" McLeod... Drew // Morris... Jenni Ersnt... Matthew "The Elder Pinky" Pinky... Lil Stevie Ray... Brad "Lawdawg" Latta... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Big Eddy Mac... Lori "Sunshine" Beirne... Lil Eddy Jr... Chris "The" Croyle... Danny P... Jacob "The Pinky" Pinky...

LIES, DARN LIES, & STATISTICS
- Let's talk playoff stats! Especially who's made it and who haven't...
- Making the playoffs last season - DFC XIX: Mark "The Mighty" Gainey... Big Eddy Mac... Drew // Morris... Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert... Trey "The Answer" Cartledge... Brad "Lawdawg" Latta... Jonathan "The Wonderful World of" Oz... Clay "Che" Shaver... Matthew "The Elder Pinky" Pinkerton... Mitchell "The Younger Pinky" Pinky... Chris "The" Croyle... Atlanta Bill Seybolt... Justin "The Rook" Dearing...
- It's been 2 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XVIII: Yours Truly... Lil Stevie Ray... Bradley "The Wiser Pinky" Pinky... Brad "Not Scott Van Pelt" Ashby... Grandy Latta
- It's been 3 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XVII: James Hawbaker... DMO... Tyler "Not Playing like the Sexy Beast This Year" Campbell... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Lt Dan "Magic Legs" Sellers...
- It's been 4 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XVI: Jenni Ernst... Lil Eddy Mc... Hurricane Rhett Barnett...
- It's been 7 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XII: Daniel Powell
- It's been 8 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XI : Tom Johnson
- It's been 14 years since they made the playoffs - DFC V: Mikey Nipp
- Never seen playoff glory: Garrett Cheney (16 seasons)... Drew Warren (10 seasons)... Jacob "Pinky" Pinkerton... (7 seasons)... Rick TOOLIE (4 seasons)
- Longest all time playoff streak? Mark Gainey, who made it 8 straight years, from DFC III until DFC X, which is also the record for consecutive playoff appearances to start a career.
- Current streak belongs to Lori Beirne, DFC X champ, who has made it 7 straight seasons, and looks to get her 8th straight this year. Mark Gainey is on edge, so missing the postseason puts Lori & Mark into a tie
- Mark and Drew Morris are also sitting at 14 postseason appearances, and Drew would have to have a major collapse of historical proportions to miss it this year. So if Mark misses, not only will Lori tie him for consecutive playoff appearances, Drew will take over #1 at most appearances. No pressure.
- Clay Shaver, at 5 straight years, is the current clubhouse leader at most appearances to start a career.
- Mitchell is in a surprising common position as well... winning the championship and then missing the postseason the following year. (he's sitting outside the Top 8 currently)
- Shawn Sharp won DFC I and actually never made the postseason again in the 4 other seasons he played. Tad Roose won in DFC II and DFC IV, missing the playoffs in III and V. Wookiee Fulaytar won DFC III, and missed the playoffs the next year in DFC IV -- but that's because he took the year off.
- Also winning the DFC Title and missing the postseason the following year: Drew Morris, Lori Beirne, Trey Cartledge, Tyler Campbell, Steven Ray, Rhett Barnett.
- In fact, here's who won and returned to defend their title (though we've never had a back to back champion): Tad Roose (VIII), Mark Gainey (IX and XIX), James Hawbaker (XIII), Zack Graves (XIV), Matt Halpert (XVIII)

THE WEEK THAT WAS
Truly the Mississippi State of the DFC - some down years, some excellent years, sometimes success in the postseason, sometimes never even makes it... but DMOsborne keeps trucking along, and this week, with a 9-1 record, (david) marks his 6th career win. And I can't tell you for sure, but i'm pretty sure that it's been a long time since DMO led his division this late into a season.
Six people total were 9-0 headed into the final game, and they all picked LA to beat Pittsburgh (in fairness, only Yours Truly and Bradley Pinky went Pittsburgh), and so the entire top 6 is all 9-1.... DMO first, with Clay "Che" Shaver in 2nd, Tad 'The Dynasty" Roose in 3rd, Hurricane Rhett in 4th, Matthew "The Elder" Pinky, and Jonathan Oz in 6th.
Big Eddy and Lori "Sunshine" Beirne tied for 7th, at 8-2, with Chris "The" Croyle in 9th and Mark "The Mighty" Gainey in 10th
Also finishing:
8-2: Eddy the Junior... Grandy Latta... Drew // Morris... Justin "The Rook" Dearing...
7-3: Bradley "The Wiser" Pinky... Brad "Lawdawg" Latta... Yours Truly... Tim "The Big" Wasyluka... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Tommy "Highlander" McLeod... Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert... James "The Possible Playoff Maker" Hawbaker... Atlanta Bill Seybolt
6-4: Jacob "Pinky" Pinky... Trey "The Answer" Cartledge... Mikey Nipp... Tyler "He Says He's The Sexy Beast" Campbell... Jenni Ernst... Lil Stevie Ray... Lt Dan "Magic Legs" Sellers
5-5: Brad "Not Scott Van Pelt" Ashby... Big Tom Johnson... Danny P
4-6: Rick TOOLIE... Young Garrett... DFC Defending Champion Mitchell "The Younger" Pinky.. Drew "Grassman" Warren...
