THE WEEK THAT WAS
It's been a rough season for Defending DFC Champion Mitchell "The Younger Pinky" Pinky (he's been doing this for 7 years now... he was like, 10 when he started... now he's in high school. What.) as he's floundered in the bottom half of the league all year.  However, he's put together a few great weeks, culminating with a weekly win this week at 8-2, putting him 10th in the conference and 1 game out of the 8th spot.  It's his 3rd career win all time.

Having a worse season is the gentleman who long ago said, "Im the Sexy Beast of this league".  That itself is subjective, but what isn't is that Tyler Campbell has had a dreadful season, having not risen above #31 of the entire field this year.  The former champion (DFC XII in 2011) tied for 2nd this week, with Tim "The Big" Wasyluka, both at 7-3.

7-3 is the record of the rest of the weekly top ten as well, including Yours Truly in 4th, Tom Johnson in 5th, Mikey Nipp in 6th, Hurricane Rhett and Brad "Not Scott Van Pelt" Ashby tied for 7th, Justin "The Rook" Dearing takes 9th and Young Garrett gets 10th.

** - With Matthew & Lori's, and then Steven's & Mark's TBA tied up, the tiebreaker for the TBA is utilized. The worst TB of the season for each is put back in and a new TB average is used to determine seeding.  Doing that puts Matthew slightly ahead of Lori, and Steven ahead of Mark... this will likely change over the next two weeks

LIES, DARN LIES, & STATISTICS
  • Let's talk playoff stats!  Especially who's made it and who haven't...
  • Making the playoffs last season - DFC XIX: Mark "The Mighty" Gainey... Big Eddy Mac... Drew // Morris... Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert... Trey "The Answer" Cartledge... Brad "Lawdawg" Latta... Jonathan "The Wonderful World of" Oz... Clay "Che" Shaver... Matthew "The Elder Pinky" Pinkerton... Mitchell "The Younger Pinky" Pinky... Chris "The" Croyle... Atlanta Bill Seybolt... Justin "The Rook" Dearing...
  • It's been 2 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XVIII: Yours Truly... Lil Stevie Ray... Bradley "The Wiser Pinky" Pinky... Brad "Not Scott Van Pelt" Ashby... Grandy Latta
  • It's been 3 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XVII: James Hawbaker... DMO... Tyler "Not Playing like the Sexy Beast This Year" Campbell... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Lt Dan "Magic Legs" Sellers...
  • It's been 4 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XVI:  Jenni Ernst... Lil Eddy Mc... Hurricane Rhett Barnett...
  • It's been 7 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XII: Daniel Powell
  • It's been 8 years since they made the playoffs - DFC XI : Tom Johnson
  • It's been 14 years since they made the playoffs - DFC V: Mikey Nipp
  • Never seen playoff glory: Garrett Cheney (16 seasons)... Drew Warren (10 seasons)...  Jacob "Pinky" Pinkerton... (7 seasons)... Rick TOOLIE (4 seasons)
  • Longest all time playoff streak? Mark Gainey, who made it 8 straight years, from DFC III until DFC X, which is also the record for consecutive playoff appearances to start a career.
  • Current streak belongs to Lori Beirne, DFC X champ, who has made it 7 straight seasons, and looks to get her 8th straight this year.  Mark Gainey is on edge, so missing the postseason puts Lori & Mark into a tie
  • Mark and Drew Morris are also sitting at 14 postseason appearances, and Drew would have to have a major collapse of historical proportions to miss it this year. So if Mark misses, not only will Lori tie him for consecutive playoff appearances, Drew will take over #1 at most appearances.  No pressure.
  • Clay Shaver, at 5 straight years, is the current clubhouse leader at most appearances to start a career.
  • Mitchell is in a surprising common position as well... winning the championship and then missing the postseason the following year. (he's sitting outside the Top 8 currently)
  • Shawn Sharp won DFC I and actually never made the postseason again in the 4 other seasons he played.  Tad Roose won in DFC II and DFC IV, missing the playoffs in III and V.  Wookiee Fulaytar won DFC III, and missed the playoffs the next year in DFC IV --  but that's because he took the year off.
  • Also winning the DFC Title and missing the postseason the following year: Drew Morris, Lori Beirne, Trey Cartledge, Tyler Campbell, Steven Ray, Rhett Barnett.
  • In fact, here's who won and returned to defend their title (though we've never had a back to back champion): Tad Roose (VIII), Mark Gainey (IX and XIX), James Hawbaker (XIII), Zack Graves (XIV), Matt Halpert (XVIII)
