THE WEEK THAT WAS

It took him a while--since DFC 10's Week 5, to be exact--but Justin Fisher finally shook off his cobwebs and, like his Miss State alma mater, has come through with a big win.  He takes the 2nd wee of the DFC Season with a 7-1 record, matching his win total in his previous weekly win.

Brad "Lawdawg" Latta comes in at 6-2 for 2nd place, while his better half Stephanie gets 3rd.  A tie for 4th between brother Scott Latta and Yours Truly, and in 6th place, Matt Halpert.  In 7th place is Jennifer Ernst, all at 6-2, and at 5-3, former DFC Champ Trey Cartledge for 8th, Tommy McLeod in 9th and also at 5-3, rounding out the top ten is Magic Mark Warner.

LIES, DARN LIES & STATISTICS
  • And another streak comes to an end.  As told in a previous LDL&S, Jonathan Osborne was coasting at 5 weeks with 5-3 or better... and that streak ends at 5 weeks, as he goes 4-4 this past week.  Who has the new current streak?
  • Matt Halpert, Jennifer Ernst and all three Latta brothers--Matt, Brad and Scotty2Hottie all have 4 straight weeks.  Let's see if anyone makes it to 8.  Good luck.
  • Justin Fisher took 34 weeks between weekly wins, but that is far from the longest gap between wins.  Scotty2Hottie Latta went from DFC VI to DFC X between wins--49 weeks... but the biggest gap belongs to Tommy McLeod, who won... well, actually tied in Week 7 with Jason Quinn, in DFC II.  He didn't win again until DFC X, Week 7--95 weeks in between.  However, that record is longest between wins.
  • There are some though, who haven't won in a long, long time, and are still waiting for Weekly win #2... as of Week 3 in this season, Chris Croyle is at 26 weeks since his first, and only, weekly win.
  •  Hurricane Rhett is at 35 weeks...  Lt Dan Sellers is at 36 weeks...  Ryan Sherman's last weekly win came 42 weeks ago... Tyler Campbell is now at 76 weeks... Garrett Cheney is at 93 weeks, 2 away from tying Tommy McLeod's record.
  • However, its Eddy McBroom Junior, that surprisingly holds the longest time... his last weekly win came in DFC IV, in 2003, during the 4th week.  Even after all that he's accomplished, he has now waited 106 weeks for his next win... and counting.
  • Then there is Shawn Sharp, the very first DFC Champion... His last weekly win came in DFC I, in 2000, during Week 5.  Its been 141 weeks of the DFC regular season... however, he has not been involved in all of them, as a groin injury forced him out early in his career... he's only had 38 weeks active in the DFC since his last weekly win.
