THE WEEK THAT WAS
It hasn't happened since Week 10 of DFC VI... which was in 2006, by the way, but Tyler Campbell, my brother in law and the one who proclaimed himself "The Sexy Beast of the DFC", has won his 2nd week of his career... going a strong 8-2, he's catapulted himself back into the DFC title race.

Putting another strong week together, missing it by only a Tiebreak, Tommy "The Highlander" McLeod grabs the second spot for the week, also at 8-2.

Bradley Pinkerton takes 3rd place, while Brad "The Bald One" Ashby gets a 4th place finish as he tries to pull his season out of the gutter.  Grandy Latta grabs 5th, while Drew "Slash" Morris and James "The Winner Maker" Hawbaker tie for 6th, and Brad "The Lawdawg" Latta and Matty Pinky tie for 8th.  Finally, Remodeling Clay Shaver gets 10th for the week, and all are 7-3.

Also Finishing:
7-3: Eddy the Younger

6-4: Justin Glenn... Drew "The Grassman" Warren... Rick TOOLIE... Yours Truly... Eddy the Bigger... Lori "Sunshine" Beirne... Mikey Nipp... Jonny Oz... Atlanta Bill Seybolt...

5-5: Tom Johnson... Sarah Hasha... Jenni Ernst... Mitchy Pinky... Lil Stevie Ray... DMO... Mark "The Mighty" Gainey... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Michael "Save" Ferris... Tad "The Dynasty" Roose... Defending DFC Champion Hurricane Rhett Barnett... Jacob Pinky... Matt "The Scientist" Halpert... Danny Powell

4-6: Brett "Pops" Smith... Lt Dan Sellers...

3-7: The Croyle... Trey "The Answer" Cartledge...

2-8: Young Garrett Cheney

DFC X7 Week Three Results

NOTE -- while doing the results last week late at night in a hotel room, I did a few goofs, including the South Division.  All has been corrected, and Tommy McLeod still holds the weekly win.  Sorry about that, and as always, keep me straight =)

THE WEEK THAT WAS
One of the most successful DFC'ers of all time takes home the week this week... yes, guys, y'all got beat by a girl, and Jenni Ernst goes 9-1 and takes her 8th win of her career (one as "Hudson", the rest as "Ernst"), and that 9-1 might have saved her tanking season.

Though way off on the TB (21 points!), an 8-2 season gives Rookie Brett "The Pop Man" Smith 2nd place in the week, and a lead to Rookie of the Year.

Coming in 3rd is a previous Rookie of the Year, Remodeling Clay Shaver at 7-3.

An exact guess on the TB helps Michael Ferris get 4th place, while Mitchell Pinky takes 5th, and Lori "Sunshine" Beirne and Danny Powell tie for 6th, all at 6-4.   Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert and "The Bald One" Brad Ashby tie for 8th and another tie gives us Tom Johnson, Grandy Latta and Bradley Pinky all for 10th place

Also finishing:
6-4 - Yours Truly... Drew "The Grassman" Warren... Justin "The Blend" Glenn... Young Garrett Cheney

5-5 - Hurricane Rhett... Tommy McLeod... Jonny Osborne... Mikey Nipp... Rick TOOOLIE... DMO... James "The Prediction Maker" Hawbaker... Lt Dan Sellers... Tad "The Dynasty" Roose... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Lil Stevie Ray... Jacob Pinky... Brad "Lawdawg" Latta

4-6 - Trey "The Answer" Cartledge... Both Eddys, big and little... HotLanta Bill... Matt Pinky... Mark "The Mighty" Gainey... Drew "Slash" Morris... Chris "The Unnamed" Croyle...

3-7 - Sarah Hasha

THE WEEK THAT WAS

As Ole Miss dominated the first half of their game, it was looking like Young Garrett Cheney would take the week home, his first since (and 2nd lifetime) weekly win since Week 5 of DFC V... that's 12 years ago.  But, as we all watched in amusement and impressiveness, FSU blew past the Rebels, and with it, James Hawbaker nailed an 8-2 record, his 3rd win of his career (first since Week 11 of DFC VIII) and a pretty good start to a tumultuous season opening.

Lori "Sunshine" Beirne also starts strong at 7-3, with a surprising Sarah Hasha in 3rd (could this be Sarah's year??) and a tie for 4th, between Yours Truly and Remodeling Clay Shaver, Lt Dan Sellers in 6th, Trey "The Answer" Cartledge in 7th, Matt "the Mad Scientist" Halpert takes 8th, with Brad "Lawdawg" Latta in 9th, and Grandy Latta coming in 10th, all at 7-3.

Among the many 6-4 records, both Michael Ferris and Steven Ray locked in for a tie at 11th.

Also finishing:

6-4: Atlanta Bill Seybolt... Young Garrett... Jonny Osborne... Matt "The Mad Scientist" Halpert... Mark "The Mighty" Gainey... Bradley Pinky... Drew "Slash" Morris

5-5: Brett "The Popsicle" Smith... Danny Powell... Big Eddy... Tyler "The Self Proclaimed Sexy Beast of the DFC" Campbell... DMO... Zack "The Attack" Graves... Matthew Pinky... Tom Big Johnson... The Croyle... Pinky Pinky

LIES, DARN LIES & STATISTICS

"There are three types of lies in this world... lies... damn lies... and statistics" - Mark Twain

• Tad Roose, a three time champion, also holds a record that may never be broken, as he went from Week 5 of DFC IV to Week 2 of DFC VIII -- 45 straight weeks without going below .500.  This record went unmatched for years as only Matt Halpert and Gary "The Idol" Eubanks came sorta close, both getting to 24 weeks before faltering.
• Two DFC'ers were on their way, however... Yours Truly and Rhett Barnett.  Yours Truly was at 27 weeks coming into this season, while Rhett was at 26.  And in Week One, Rhett's streak ends at 26 by going 4-6 this week.
• The all time wins category is a hard category to crack, because we are talking 17 years. For at least a decade, Jennifer Ernst sat atop the all time win list, but Yours Truly managed to catch her and take the top spot. However, while it was a Me vs Jennifer battle for a few seasons, suddenly Drew Morris and Big Eddy have thrown their hat in the ring.  And after Week One, Drew Morris has moved into 2nd on the All Time Win List
• Currently, the top five are:  Yours Truly 1025-641... Drew Morris (1023-618)... Jennifer Ernst (1022-664)... Big Eddy McBroom (1013-623)... Mark Gainey (976-557).  Its the first time in 14 years that Jennifer was not among the Top 2 all time.
• Also important to remember, while Yours Truly & Jenni Ernst were in DFC I, Drew Morris & Big Eddy didnt join the league until DFC II, and Mark Gainey was in DFC III, and through playoff success, were able to gain enough victories to rank so high.
• If you only look at regular season, the Top Five All Time is a little different... Yours Truly (943-595)... Jennifer Ernst (932-606)... Tommy McLeod (910-628)... Drew Morris (894-556) and Mark Gainey (865-489)
• Also catching up... Jacob Pinkerton is entering his 4th season in the league, while Remodeling Clay Shaver is currently in his third.  But despite having a full season's head start on Shaver, Pinky and Shaver are now tied in all time wins at 143.  Clay has 69 losses, Pinky has 155, and is currently the only DFC'er sitting at below .500 all time.  Womp Womp.

THE WEEK THAT WAS
Since we went to a 10 week season in DFC XIV, we've never had an undefeated week, though we've had a dozen or so 9-1 weeks.  This week, however, that all changed because we had not one, but two three 10-0 weeks... and via tiebreak, Lori "Sunshine" Beirne gets the first ever weekly win with a 10-0 record, the eighth of her career and first since last season's Week 4 win.

Coming in 2nd, undefeated but a few points off, Mark "The Mighty" Gainey also gets a 10-0 record for the week, but not the weekly win.

A tie for 3rd place find Lt Dan Sellers and DMOsborne both at 9-1, while Remodeling Clay Shaver gets 5th at 9-1.  Justin Harrison is in 6th and tied for 7th is Drew "Slash" Morris and James "The Win Maker" Hawbaker, all at 9-1.

In 9th place, young Mitchell Pinkerton goes 8-2, and Tommy McLeod takes 10th place at 8-2.

Also finishing:
8-2: Trey "The Answer" Cartledge... Hurricane Rhett Barnett... Brad "The Lawdawg" Latta... The Defending DFC Champion Steven Ray... Matty Pinky... Zack "The Attack"  Graves... Jonathan Osborne
7-3: Justin Glenn... Bronson Kilgore... Mikey Nipp... Big Eddy Mac... Braddy Pinky... Tad "The Dynasty" Roose... Tyler "The Sexy Beast" Campbell... The Big Wasyluka... Michael "The Rookie" Ferris... Matt "Scientist" Halpert
