LIES, DAMN LIES & STATISTICS... the playoff edition

• Heading into our 27th edition of the DFC Playoffs, it's Drew "Slash" Morris that holds the all time playoff appearance record, at 20.  Rookie in DFC II, he's only missed the postseason in IV, IX, XI, XVII, and most recently XV
• Yours Truly has had 19 appearances, though it looks like I won't get to 20 this year. At 18 playoff appearances, Tommy McLeod may tie at 19 this season, while the rest of the double digits are Mark "The Mighty" Gainey at 17, Big Eddy McB at 16, Jonny Oz and retired legend Lori Beirne at 13, Steven "The Principle" Ray at 12, Jenny Ernst at 11, and tied for 10, Tad "The Dynasty" Roose and the retired Brad "Lawdawg" Latta
• Matty "Pinky the Elder" Pinky has an impressive 9 appearances in his 13 seasons in, though it remains to be seen to whether he gets to 10 this year
• Playoff victories look much like the appearance rankings - Gainey has 193 wins, with Drew "Slash" Morris at 191, Big Eddy McB at 183, and Yours Truly with 179.
• Most time between playoff appearances?  Twenty seasons, aka 216 weeks, aka 1912 games picked between Michael "The Collector" Nipp getting in at DFC V, then not again until DFC XXV
• Record for most weeks to start a season before making the playoffs? Young Garrett Cheney, a rookie in DFC V, currently at 2124 games picked but no playoff spot. Yet.
• By comparison, 2nd place on that list is Drew "The Grassman" Warren, who started in DFC XI, didn't make the postseason until DFC IV, a total of 1332 games.
• Since we are talking playoffs, lets look at the heralded list of All Time Wins - Yours Truly sits atop the list with 1738 all time victories, Drew Morris in 2nd (1692), Big Eddy McB in 3rd (1672), Mark Gainey in 4th (1655), and Tommy Mac (1638)
• Including those five, there are 23 DFC'ers who have gone over 1000 victories lifetime, with Daniel Powell close to 1400 with 1396, then Big Tom Johnson 1392 and Mikey Nipp as well, with 1391.
• James Hawbaker will get to 900 all time wins with his current 899... and congrats to former champ Mitchy Pinky, who just hit 700, now at 702
• And hey, he's got a long time to break the Top 50, but Coach "Viva la Miami" DiBs has 203 lifetime wins... Just head of him are retired DFC'ers Justin Dearing (204), Rick Toolie (207) and Jason Turnbow (211).  With a great Week 10, Coach can climb to 57th all time in wins.
• And finally... I managed to break Tad "The Dynasty" Roose's 20 year old records of consecutive .500 or better weeks - his record was 44 weeks, I managed 47 before I crapped out in Week 8.
• Current active record? DMOsborne at 24 weeks, with Chris "YO TEACH" Croyle at 22.
