1. Drew Morris… former DFC Champion, on a roll last year to
an MVP title, and shows no signs of stopping.
Can this be his year to win another DFC title?
2. Trey Cartledge… two seasons after his championship run,
he’s struggled a bit. Look for Trey to
shed the rebuilding brand and come out strong.
3. James Hawbaker…
DFC XIII Champion that has been a strong contender for years.
4. Zack Graves… The
returning champ, looking to become only the 3rd DFC’er to win more
than one title, and wanting to become the first ever to win back-to-back
DeRamus Championship Plates.
5. Mark Gainey… his dominance has come into question in
recent seasons, after missing the postseason for only the second time in his
career last year. Look for him to live
up to the “The Mighty” Gainey nickname.
6. Eddy McBroom the Senior… can time be running out? Doing just enough to get into the postseason
is no longer good enough, so can he finally capitalize?
7. Yours Truly… fifteen years in a game that he created,
only one DeuceBowl appearance. Sigh.
8. Mike Beirne… Rookie of the year last year, winning the
East Division title as well… can he keep it going?
9. Scott Latta… Up and down each year, but been consistently
better each year
10. Tad Roose… Three
time champion, has had a string of down seasons, and is due for a comeback. Out of law school now, with more time to
focus on what’s really important. The
DFC and family. In that order.
11. Jennifer Ernst… Second on the all time win total list,
and one championship appearance. Fifteen
years later, can she become the second chick to take home a title? (Lori Beirne did it in DFC X)
12. Jonathan Osborne… won an obscene 70 games two seasons
ago, but couldn’t translate that into a championship. He and Scott Latta make up the New Orleans
Saints of the DFC… mired in mediocrity early on, but contenders in the last several
years—only the Saints have a title.
13. Brad Ashby… a relocated franchise, from here to
Tennessee, look for his fortune to turn.
14. Justin Harrison.. one of my surprise picks of the
season, I think Justin will climb out of the cellar he cuddled up in last
season for a playoff berth this year.
15. Michael Nipp… my other surprise pick of the year, it’s
time for Mikey to finally finish rebuilding and make a run at the postseason.
